In this day and age we have a piece of equipment to do almost anything. We also recognize the impact these essential tools have on our environment. EPEAT provides a way to save money and go GREEN at the same time.

We ask that you take just a few minutes to complete a survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/9YJSKW3. This survey is for a tool called EPEAT which stands for Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool. It is a third party rating system that uses eight categories of criteria, 23 of which are required for the Bronze rating and another 28 which are optional for the Silver and Gold ratings.

This survey will serve several purposes. It is part of a research project being done in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Masters Degree, but it is also being done to benefit the PA Tourism and Lodging Association and its present and prospective clients. The results of the survey will be given to PTLA. For those of you who complete the survey, a training PowerPoint presentation will be sent to you by the end of August 2010. Your e-mail address will be recorded for that purpose. Your responses will be kept confidential.

By selecting an EPEAT product you are assured that:

- toxic materials are reduced or eliminated in its construction
- it is designed for recycling
- it is ENERGY STAR® qualified
- it carries the option for an extended warranty/service agreement
- it is included in takeback and recycling programs
- it is packaged in recycled/recyclable materials.

The survey will be open from Wednesday June 16, 2010 until Friday July 9, 2010.
