Credit Card Verification Code Required as an
Additional Security Measure for PTLA Members
The PTLA has changed its credit card processing vendor. With this change, we are now required to enter the security information numbers (Verification code or v-code) with the credit card payment information. All forms on the website and newly printed forms have been updated to include a space for the v-code numbers. However, there are forms that you may have received prior to this change that do not specifically request this information. If you are making a credit card payment, please provide the v-code numbers, even if it is not specifically listed on the form.
Where do you find the v-code on your credit card? For MasterCard, VISA and Discover card users, the security information numbers are printed on the back of your credit card. The full credit card number is reprinted in the signature box and at the end of the number is the three-digit verification code. For American Express card users, the verification code is a four-digit number on the front of the card above the credit card number on either the right or left side of the credit card.
Using the v-code helps to prevent others from illegally using your credit card number that may have been obtained from a charge card slip or other illegal method.
