PTLA Announces The Changing Face of Hospitality
2008 Lodging/Human Resources Conference
The PA Tourism & Lodging Association will host the 2008 Lodging/Human Resources Conference on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East.
The Conference theme The Changing Face of Hospitality will offer professional resources for all levels of management and human resources. The Conference will also feature the Spirit of Hospitality Awards Reception, as PTLA recognizes the industrys most outstanding professionals. Components will include a keynote address by Don Landry, CHA, former chief executive officer of Sunburst Hospitality Corporation and president and CEO of Choice Hotels International, Mark V. Lomanno, president of Smith Travel Research, will offer a presentation titled The State of the Industry. In addition, twelve outstanding informational workshops will be provided on a variety of topics from Leadership/Management Skills, to Internal Theft, to HR Basics. The Conference will also offer a Trade Show, with over 30 exhibitors expected, to give you the opportunity to see first hand the latest in products and services available to the industry.

Don Landry, CHA, is the owner of Top Ten, an independent hospitality industry consulting company. He serves on the board of directors of Hersha Hospitality Trust, and the advisory boards of Unifocus, Campo Architects, and Arescom. A 40-year veteran of the lodging industry, Landry is the former vice chairman of the board and CEO of Sunburst Hospitality Corporation, a hotel real estate and management company with ownership in 75 hotels with over 10,000 rooms in 25 states.
