Breakout Workshops Offer Outstanding Selection of Topics
PTLA's 2008 Lodging/Human Resources Conference
“The Changing Face of Hospitality”

The PA Tourism & Lodging Association will host the Lodging/Human Resources Conference on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East.

The Conference theme “The Changing Face of Hospitality” will offer professional resources for all levels of management and human resources. The Conference will also feature the Spirit of Hospitality Awards Reception (on Monday, April 28), as PTLA recognizes the industry’s most outstanding professionals. Components of the Conference will include a keynote address by Don Landry, CHA, former chief executive officer of Sunburst Hospitality Corporation and president and CEO of Choice Hotels International; and Mark V. Lomanno, president of Smith Travel Research, will offer a presentation titled “The State of the Industry.” In addition, 12 outstanding informational workshops will be provided on a variety of topics from Leadership/Management Skills, to Internal Theft, to HR Basics. The Conference will also offer a Trade Show, with over 30 exhibitors expected, to give you the opportunity to see first hand the latest products and services available to the industry.

Participants will be provided with practical information concerning the development of an effective, viable and defensible Emergency Action Plan for a hotel fire. Using recent case studies, a fundamental emergency action plan for responding to a hotel fire will be provided that will be applicable to every hotel. This methodology can also serve as the basis for the development of other hotel emergency action plans.
