Director of Events

Full-time salaried position for a Harrisburg-based, statewide non-profit organization in the tourism industry. This person is responsible for overseeing all aspects of event planning for educational programs including recruiting sponsors & exhibitors for all events; coordinating the event process from conception to completion; overseeing various committees; assisting with planning, staffing & promoting all events; and assisting in all marketing for each event.

Candidate must be detail orientated with exceptional time management skills, possess: outstanding communication skills (both written & verbal); strong social and motivational skills; willingness to do limited travel; and to work hours dictated by events.

Benefits include paid holidays, flexible work hours, short-term disability, life insurance and more. Paid employee healthcare is not included.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in the hospitality industry or at least 3 years of event planning, catering or sales & marketing experience.
