In-house Library & Resource Center

The Pennsylvania Tourism & Lodging Association's Library & Resource Center offers materials on a variety of topics in both video and hardcopy formats, as well as numerous materials in our vertical files.

This free member benefit provides the perfect opportunity to educate and train you staff in a number of different areas of hospitality. It is also an excellent opportunity to conduct research in a certain area of interest, or answer questions you may have regarding a particular subject.

What types of information are available through the Resource Center?
The PTLA’s Resource Center consists of over 750 pieces of research material that are cataloged in the following topical areas:

Lending Policy

Below are the guidelines established for borrowing materials from the PTLA’s Resource Center
1. Any active PTLA member or person belonging to a member property may borrow up to three items from the Resource Center at any one time.
2. Any property or person not holding a current membership with the PTLA may borrow up to three items from the Resource Center at any one time for a fee of $25 per item plus the shipping fees listed below.
3. All items may be borrowed for up to two weeks (14 days) from the time received.
4. A “Library & Resource Center Request Form” must be completed prior to any Resource Center material being lent. The form will require a major credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa). In the event the item(s) are lost or damaged by the borrower, the borrower will be responsible for the replacement cost of the materials.
5. Items from the Library & Resource Center may be requested in the following manner:

If the request is by the latter two, the PTLA will ship the item(s) for a $5 shipping fee per order. A return envelope and label will be provided. The borrower will be responsible for the return shipping and insurance costs if applicable.

6. There will be a late charge of $1 per borrowed item, per day-billed to the credit card-if items are not returned in the allotted time. Check-out may be extended at the discretion of the PTLA if borrower notifies the PTLA in advance.
7. Please allow at least one week for retrieval and shipment of items if requested via fax or mail
