WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES
In 1998 the federal government passed the Workforce Investment Act which restructured the governance and delivery of publicly-funded workforce development activities throughout the United States. In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania this legislation has led to the development of CareerLink sites and Workforce Investment Boards, each of which represents a potential workforce development resource to our industry.
TEAM Pennsylvania CareerLink Sites
In Pennsylvania, under the leadership of the PA Department of Labor and Industry, this transformation has led to the creation of over 30 CareerLink sites serving all of the Commonwealths 67 counties. CareerLink sites provide one-stop, comprehensive services to employers seeking workers and job seekers seeking employment.

We encourage you to consider utilizing this resource as part of your overall human resources planning and recruitment strategy.
WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD CONTACTS
The Commonwealth has delineated 23 Workforce Investment Areas, each of which has created a public/private partnership Workforce Investment Board to plan and oversee the areas workforce development activity.
Workforce Investment Boards represent an important arena of activity for employers interested in helping shape the development of the areas future workforce. While appointments to the Board are handled by the respective county elected officials, the PA Tourism & Lodging Association encourages you to contact your areas Workforce Investment Board to find out more about their activity and to determine how you can become involved.
